Wanted Dead or a Wild

How to play

Choose a stake and spin. The grid has 5 reels and 5 rows and wins are counted on 15 paylines. There are no clusters or pays-anywhere wins; matching symbols must line up along a payline.

DuelReels

The headline feature is DuelReels. When a VS symbol lands and, after expanding, forms part of a winning combination, it becomes a wild reel covering the reel. Two outlaws duel on the reel; whoever wins, the victor's multiplier is applied to the whole reel and boosts every win passing through it. If more than one wild reel shares the same winning combination, their multipliers are added together and multiplied by the payline win.

The official page does not state the range of multiplier values; the in-game rules screen does. For terms like multiplier and wild see the slot terms guide.

Symbols

The per-symbol paytable is not given on the official promotional page, so it is not given here either.

Worked example

Say a 10 ₺ spin lands two VS symbols and both expand and form part of the same payline win. One duel's victor carries 10x, the other 25x. Because the two wild reels share the same win, their multipliers are added: 10 + 25 = 35x. If the payline win alone is, say, 2 ₺, the result is 2 ₺ × 35 = 70 ₺. Multipliers are added, not multiplied together. The values are illustrative only; real multipliers and payouts depend on the game's rules.

The Great Train Robbery

In this bonus game all Wild symbols that land are sticky and can be part of any number of winning combinations for the rest of the round. The more sticky wilds fill the screen, the more payline wins become possible.

Duel at Dawn

In this round there is a much higher chance of landing several VS symbols at once, potentially filling the screen with up to five expanded DuelReels. The official page describes it as your best shot at the maximum win.

Dead Man's Hand

A two-phase bonus game. In the first phase the aim is to collect as many Wild symbols and multipliers as possible. In the second phase, Showdown, all collected Wilds are added to random positions on every spin and the accumulated multiplier is applied to all wins.

The official page does not state the trigger conditions or spin counts of these three games; see the in-game info screen.

Bonus buy

According to the official page the bonus buy feature takes you straight into one of the bonus games; prices are not given on the page. The option may not be enabled at every operator or in every country. A 4 out of 5 volatility means wins can be infrequent but large; a buy costs a multiple of the bet in one go, so a budget limit matters all the more.

How to tell it apart from other Hacksaw games

Hacksaw's official page lists no sequel or alternative edition of Wanted Dead or a Wild; it only states that this is the first game to feature the DuelReels mechanic. DuelReels may appear in later Hacksaw games too, so the way to recognise this one is the title, the Wild West theme, the 5×5 grid and the 15 paylines. By contrast, the same provider's Le Bandit uses a 6×5 cluster pays grid and is rated 3 out of 5 for volatility. For the provider's other games see the Hacksaw Gaming page.

Can you play a demo?

Hacksaw Gaming's official game page has a "Try it" button for trying the game. This site does not host the demo and no button labelled "demo" leads to a registration page. In a high-volatility game a short demo session is not representative of what can happen in real play. Official page: Wanted Dead or a Wild on hacksawgaming.com.
