How to play Big Bamboo

Choose a stake and spin. The official page does not give the grid size or payline count; you can see them on the in-game info screen. Three elements drive the game:

Mystery Stack

Mystery Stacks can appear in both the base game and free spins and land anywhere on the reels. When they open they reveal wilds, paying symbols or the Golden Bamboo symbol.

Golden Bamboo feature

When Golden Bamboo appears you get 1 respin. During it these symbols can land:

• Instant Prize symbols: up to 5,000x.
• Multiplier symbols: up to 10x.
• Scatter and Gamble Scatter symbols.
• Collector symbols.

Exactly how these symbols interact is not detailed on the promotional page; the definitive rules are on the in-game info screen.

Gamble Scatter

A special symbol that appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4. When it lands, different results spin through inside the symbol and one is settled. Terms are explained in the slot terms guide.

Worked example

Instant prize: instant prize symbols are shown as multiples of the stake. On a 2 ₺ stake, a 25x instant prize symbol in the Golden Bamboo respin is worth 2 ₺ × 25 = 50 ₺; the top value of 5,000x would be 10,000 ₺ on a 2 ₺ stake. How multiplier and collector symbols apply to these values is in the game rules.

Two RTP configurations: the official page lists two RTPs, 96.13% and 94.13%. Over a very long stretch with 1,000 ₺ wagered in total, the theoretical return is 961.30 ₺ in the first and 941.30 ₺ in the second; a difference of 20 ₺. You will not notice it in a single session, but it is real over time. The loading screen shows which configuration is in use (RTP explained). The figures are only examples.

Free spins round

According to the official page free spins trigger in two ways: a Gamble Scatter landing in the base game, or a free spins prize in the Golden Bamboo feature. The round starts with a number of free spins and a number of symbol conversions. Conversions turn low-paying symbols into bamboo; per the provider, the more low symbols converted, the better the outcomes.

Gamble wheel

You can accept the awarded free spins option or risk it on the gamble wheel for a better one; you can also lose. In the wheel's advanced state dots appear at the top left of segments, where low symbols can be converted into something better such as Mystery Stacks, Golden Bamboo or free spins features. Exact odds are not given on the promotional page.

Bonus buy

The official page states that bonus buy is available but gives no price. Whether it is enabled varies by operator and country. High volatility (volatility explained) means a bought bonus can often pay less than its cost.

Big Bamboo vs Big Bamboo 2

Push Gaming presents Big Bamboo 2 as the next chapter in the Bamboo series. According to the official pages:

Big Bamboo 2 also adds the Lucky Bamboo feature: it starts with 3 spins that reset on every Golden Bamboo symbol, creating frames that upgrade through Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond where the symbol lands. Free spins have a Low Symbol Meter and Golden Bamboo frames persist until the end of the round. Both games have a gamble wheel.
